Community Success Story

Last week, in partnership with our Workspace@Shipyard neighbors, the law firm of Hamel, Marcin, Dunn, Reardon & Shea, we launched a Clothing Drive at each of our locations to support St. Francis House in Boston. The outpouring of contributions we received from our Members, as well as from members of our local communities, has been tremendous.

So tremendous that, yesterday, Workspace's Justin Moran delivered 27 bags of business clothes, belts, shoes, and ties for St. Francis' on-site boutique, Studio Shine, which provides professional business attire to their Workforce Development participants.

“Studio Shine is an on-site boutique providing guests with professional business attire. The Studio was founded by a MAP (Moving Ahead Program) graduate who understood the need for high-quality, fashion-forward professional attire that completes a student’s 'look' and mirrors the internal transformation that happens during the 14-week program.

Our Wellness Coach and staff provide participants and guests with a private consultation in which they learn how to present themselves in a professional setting and how to dress for work. Studio Shine supplies each person with all of the wardrobe pieces necessary for job attainment and success.” ~St. Francis House

Our clothing drive represents more than just a collection of garments; it embodies our commitment to helping those outside the walls of Workspace -- in this case, uplifting our homeless community and empowering individuals as they strive to re-enter the workforce. We wholeheartedly support St. Francis’ dedication to helping restore their guests’ confidence and dignity -- crucial elements for job seekers facing significant barriers. Every donation not only meets a practical need but also sends a powerful message of encouragement and support.

Together, St. Francis House, Workspace, HMDR&S, and all who contributed to the Clothing Drive, are paving the way for brighter futures, one outfit at a time. We are so grateful for everyone’s generosity and compassion!

Many thanks to Attorney Ben Pushner, from @HMDR&S, for inviting us to join his firm in this community initiative.

If you missed out on the Clothing Drive and would like to make a monetary donation to St. Francis House, you may do so here.
