On October 1st, Workspace was a Courtside Sponsor of the Scituate Community Christmas 3rd Annual Susan Phippen Cornhole Tournament. Founded in 1989 by philanthropist Susan Phippen, Scituate Community Christmas is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to supporting Scituate families and individuals during times of hardship at Christmastime and throughout the year.1

SCC inspires so many in this tight-knit South Shore community through their kindness, compassion, philanthropy, and volunteerism that Workspace was compelled to get involved. In addition to sponsoring the event, owner Justin Moran doubled down and entered a team in the tournament. He and Workspace Warrior teammate, Jeff Lydon, braved the dismal weather and put in a good showing but the competition was fierce. They didn’t bring home a trophy but the Warriors had a blast and felt good knowing their participation and sponsorship would help local families in need in a big way – the event raised more than $30,000!

“The SCC Cornhole Tournament was a great experience. People from all over the community attended to show their support and it was also great to learn more about the wonderful causes that SCC helps to support,” says Justin. When asked if he'd considered a rematch, Justin replied, “I’m thrilled that we decided to support this great organization and will definitely do it again next year.”
