SecureConnect

A private network for regulated-data work.

Workspace SecureConnect is a dedicated private network — a VLAN — isolated from the general member Wi-Fi. Built for attorneys, CPAs, financial advisors, and HIPAA-sensitive practices whose work requires traffic isolation at the network level. $75/month flat, at all five Workspace locations.

Who SecureConnect is for

Attorneys and law firms

Members practicing law at Workspace — solo attorneys, small firms, and specialized practices where attorney–client privilege and confidentiality of client files are non-negotiable. SecureConnect puts your network traffic on its own VLAN, isolated from the general member Wi-Fi.

CPAs, tax practices, and financial advisors

Financial professionals handling client tax records, investment accounts, and financial statements. SecureConnect is built for the GLBA / SEC / FINRA posture your practice needs — isolated traffic, business-grade encryption, separate from the rest of the building.

Medical billing and HIPAA-sensitive practices

Medical billing, mental-health practitioners, and any member handling Protected Health Information. SecureConnect's VLAN isolation is the technical layer that supports a HIPAA-compliant workflow — combined with the locked-door privacy of a Workspace private office.

What SecureConnect includes

  • Dedicated VLAN — your traffic isolated from general member Wi-Fi
  • Business-grade WPA2/WPA3 encryption
  • Separate subnet and traffic routing
  • Wired and wireless access
  • Available at every Workspace location
  • Single flat monthly fee — $75, same at every location
  • Works alongside your private-office or coworking membership

SecureConnect vs. standard member Wi-Fi

Standard Wi-Fi is business-grade, encrypted, and perfectly fine for most work. The difference is isolation: SecureConnect puts your traffic on its own VLAN so you don't share a subnet with the rest of the building.

Frequently asked questions

What does SecureConnect actually do at the network level?

SecureConnect puts your traffic on a dedicated VLAN — a virtual local area network — isolated from the general member Wi-Fi at the router level. It has its own subnet, its own traffic routing, and its own access controls. From the outside it looks like a separate network; from your device it just looks like a Wi-Fi connection with your own credentials.

Is SecureConnect HIPAA / GLBA / attorney–client-privilege compliant?

Network isolation is a necessary layer for those regulatory frameworks, and SecureConnect provides it. But compliance depends on your full practice — how you store data, how you handle client files, how your devices are configured, and how you train your team. SecureConnect is the network piece; the rest is your practice's responsibility. We're not a compliance service and can't audit your workflow, but our SecureConnect members in law, financial advisory, CPA practice, and medical billing report that the network layer is what they needed from the Workspace side.

Is the standard member Wi-Fi also secure?

Yes — standard member Wi-Fi is business-grade, encrypted (WPA2/WPA3), and perfectly appropriate for most members. The difference is isolation: on standard Wi-Fi, your traffic shares a subnet with every other member in the building. On SecureConnect, your traffic is on its own VLAN with no shared subnet. For regulated-data practices, that isolation is the point.

Which Workspace locations offer SecureConnect?

All five — Beverly, Braintree, Canton, Cohasset, and Hingham. Same $75/month flat rate at each. Many of our Hingham, Canton, and Braintree members in law, CPA, and financial advisory are on SecureConnect today.

Is there a setup fee or equipment requirement?

No setup fee. No equipment to buy — you connect the same way you connect to standard Wi-Fi, just with SecureConnect credentials instead. We handle the VLAN configuration and routing; you get a Wi-Fi name and password.

Can I add SecureConnect to any plan?

Yes — SecureConnect is an add-on to any Workspace membership. Private-office members most often add it; coworking and virtual-office members can add it too. It's not sold standalone (you need a base Workspace membership to add SecureConnect), but there's no other restriction.

Can my whole team use SecureConnect or just me?

Your whole team — however many devices you need to put on the secure network is fine. One flat $75/month covers the office or membership, not per-device or per-user.

How does SecureConnect compare to a VPN I'd run myself?

A VPN tunnels your traffic through an external service — good for hiding your location, but it doesn't isolate your traffic from other people on the same local Wi-Fi network. SecureConnect solves the different problem: isolation at the building's network level, so members of the same building don't share a subnet with your regulated-data traffic. Many members run a VPN on top of SecureConnect — both layers complement each other.
